Sneak Peek at February’s Resource

For those of you on the auto donor program, you can look forward to this resource coming to your home in February.

It’s Pastor Greg’s newest book, Following Jesus in the Modern World.

Jesus calls each of us with the words he spoke to Matthew: “Follow Me.” But what does that look like in today’s society? Are there things we are holding back in our partnership with God? What does being a disciple of Christ mean in a real and practical sense?

You’ll get the answers to those questions and more in Following Jesus in the Modern World.

If you are not yet on the automatic donor program, maybe now is the time! You can use a debit or credit card, or have your donations withdrawn by EFT from your bank account. Click here to get signed up.

YOU Are Making an Impact for Christ

It’s true! Without the support of Harvest Partners like you, this ministry would not be able to reach people to the extent that it does with the hope of the gospel—people like Kayleigh, who sent me this e-mail:

Pastor Greg,

I always believed but never had faith or understanding, and I never knew what it really meant to have Jesus as the center of your life. About six weeks ago, I decided to start reading the Bible to try to understand and feel a connection to God, and not long after, I started a seminar at my local church called Discovering Christ. It began to give me insight on having a personal relationship with God, and I really started to feel a change somewhere deep inside me.

Then I started listening to your podcasts on my iPhone . . . and everything you said brought me closer to becoming a follower of Jesus Christ.

Last week, my uncle died suddenly in a tragic car accident. It completely swept my entire family off their feet. If I hadn’t listened to your “The Hope of Heaven” talk the week before, I would never have been able to make it through. Nor would I have been able to support all of my other family members using your words. You gave me comfort in knowing that he was in heaven (he had been ultimately faithful, evangelistic, and devoted to God), and that we would all see him again and be reunited. You also gave me comfort in knowing that the reason for such a tragedy happening to such an amazing man will be revealed and understood when we get to heaven. I was able to bring those comforts to my family as well, because of you.

So I just wanted to thank you for your words and the faith you’ve helped instill in me and my family.

God bless you,
Kayleigh

I can’t thank you enough for your partnership with Harvest Ministries. Stories like Kayleigh’s are “fruit that abounds to your account,” as Paul said in Philippians 4:7. I hope this testimony brightens your day, as it did mine.

Prayer Exchange

It’s time for a prayer exchange, Harvest Partners!

Leave a prayer request in the comments (keep in mind it will be visible to the public) so that we can pray for you.

Then pray for us! Our request to the Lord is that more people will join the Harvest Partner team because they realize the importance of spreading the light of the gospel in these dark days.

Pastor Prayer3
Be sure to read through some of the comments and pray for one another as well!

A Note from the Younger Generation

I was very surprised, upon reading the letter below, to learn how young its writer is. When you see how well it is written and how mature Quincy seems, I think you’ll be surprised as well. I was not surprised, however, to learn that Quincy’s parents are Harvest Partners, just like you are. Harvest Partners understand the importance of the gospel, and that conviction is sure to influence not only your giving, but the way you live your life, view the world, and raise your kids as well:

Dear Mr. Laurie,

We are so blessed to have you. I have listened to your radio broadcasts and read your e-mail devotionals for nearly two years now. I think you are a great role model, and I am happy and proud to say that my life as a Christian has been greatly accelerated by you.

Your radio broadcasts are amazing. I am nearly a teen, and one of my favorite messages is the one about temptation for teens. Your advice has made me a much better, more prosperous Christian, and I pray for you and your ministry all the time. I have given the address for your broadcasts to a few of my relatives, and I am in the process of getting the gospel through to my best friends’ stubborn minds. I am positive that your broadcast will help me to convince them.

Opening your e-mail devotional is like opening a small package that I am always surprised and overjoyed to receive. It feels like the message is always catered to just how I am feeling that day, and it always opens my eyes to the reality of God and His love for us. I love storytelling and writing, and each story that accompanies the lesson in your devotional helps give me inspiration for everything I write.

This letter will hopefully inspire you and give you the love and joy that we all need to survive and succeed as Christians. Living the Christian life is hard, but you have made it about a million times easier for me, and I hope you will continue to spread that special something all over the world.

I have read nearly every one of your books with increasing joy. I am currently working on the Start! Bible. I am surprised and excited to learn that another one of your books is out, entitled Hope. My parents are fervent Harvest Partners.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. It means a lot to me.

Yours truly,
Quincy
